From Halloween masks to amusement parks to the untold terrors of piano lessons, R.L. One of the many reasons why Goosebumps so effortlessly endures is that the series has always concerned itself with the universal truths and experiences of childhood. The series adaptation aired on Friday, Novem(runtime: 22 minutes x 2). Welcome to Camp Nightmare was originally p ublished in July 1993 (Spine #9). The trapped townspeople must discover the secrets and purpose of the “dome” or “sphere” and its origins, while coming to learn more than they ever knew about each other and animals too. In “Under the Dome,” an invisible and mysterious force field descends upon a small actual town of Chester’s Mill, Maine, USA, trapping residents inside, cut off from the rest of civilization. Or maybe he’s just having a little fun on Thursday morning. The 1997 mini-series adaptation of The Shining, written by King and directed by Mick Garris, was a response to Kubrick’s film, and it sounds like King wants to do the same for “Dome.” King’s issue with the CBS series, it would seem, is that it wasn’t entirely faithful to his source material, which is the very same issue he has always had with Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. “How about Netflix bringing back UNDER THE DOME, only starting from scratch and actually doing the book?”
This morning, King took to Twitter to get honest and throw a little shade like only King can.
King himself was involved with the series, executive producing, writing an episode and even making a cameo appearance on-screen, but it seems he wasn’t the *biggest* fan of what CBS brought to the screen. Back in 2013, CBS premiered the series “Under the Dome”, an adaptation of Stephen King‘s 2009 novel that ran for 3 seasons before coming to an end.
